A Gift of Faith from a Pilgrimage Journey
The Rosa Mystica Matha statue at Lourdes Forane Church stands as a profound symbol of devotion, prayer, and grace. This sacred statue was brought from Europe by our Vicar, Rev. Fr. Shajan Cheeramban, during a pilgrimage undertaken along with parishioners. This shared spiritual journey makes the statue even more meaningful, as it represents the collective faith and devotion of the parish community.
A Special Grace at Fatima
During the pilgrimage, the statue received a unique blessing at Fatima, Europe, one of the most revered Marian pilgrimage centers in the world. It was taken in a solemn procession at Fatima, where it was graciously permitted to be carried throughout the entire procession.
This rare and blessed opportunity adds great spiritual significance to the statue, making it not just a sacred image, but one that has been part of a deeply prayerful and historic devotional moment.
Installation Ceremony
On 13th August 2025, the statue was solemnly installed at Lourdes Forane Church by Rev. Fr. Shajan Cheeramban after his return from the pilgrimage. The installation ceremony was conducted with deep reverence and devotion, with the faithful gathered to witness and receive blessings through this sacred occasion.
Monthly Devotion – 13th Day Special Service
As the statue was installed on the 13th of August, a special devotion has been established in honor of Rosa Mystica. On the 13th of every month, a special prayer service is conducted at 6:00 PM.
This monthly gathering offers the faithful an opportunity to come together in prayer, seek the intercession of the Blessed Mother, and grow spiritually through devotion to Rosa Mystica.
Significance of Rosa Mystica Devotion
Rosa Mystica, meaning “Mystical Rose,” is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary that calls the faithful to a life of prayer, penance, and sacrifice. This devotion emphasizes:
